![]() The reason why you are getting alerts when you shouldn’t is because the app thinks the beacon is gone. They seem like smart people (or at least a lot smarter than me!) But I think they will eventually work it out. I also saw this same issue mentioned in Reddit. SRA results in about a 29% improvement while SKF results in about a 32% improvement over the current approach in proximity detection accuracy.I think the Pushcut app is a bit underdeveloped in terms of beacon functionality at this point. Our experimental results show that SRA and SKF perform better than the current moving average approach utilized by iBeacons. Our second algorithm, Server-side Kalman Filter (SKF), uses a Kalman filter in conjunction with SRA. Our first algorithm, Server-side Running Average (SRA), uses the path-loss model-based estimated distance for proximity classification. To improve proximity detection accuracy of iBeacons, we present two algorithms that address the inherent flaws in iBeacon's current proximity detection approach. It suffers from poor proximity detection accuracy due to its reliance on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). Apple's Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), named iBeacon, has emerged as a leading candidate in this domain and has become an almost industry standard for PBS. However, most existing technologies cannot satisfy all these requirements. Proximity-based Services (PBS) require high detection accuracy, energy efficiency, wide reception range, low cost and availability. It provides promising and portfolio usage scenarios for business, such as retail stores, to push related information about customers' interested items with the awareness of customers' location. Notifications will be pushed automatically to the user when smart device with iBeacon Apps come to certain areas. Smart devices, such as Android phone can detect advertising signals sent by the low energy consumption tiny device. ![]() We show in this project how iBeacon technically really work, The app. iBeacon works with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), also known as Bluetooth 4.0 or intelligent Bluetooth. This new technology may also be used by Android system. We are going to explain what it is and how it works, in order to understand how the app works and how it uses these potentialities. We explain this idea for proximity target marketing using iBeacon and discuss its implementation with our simple experiment and performance evaluation. However, if we introduce a memory to remember the history of iBeacon detection, iBeacon systems can be extended to handle multiple notifications by multiple beacon modules with awareness of some contexts of pedestrians' moving directions, which enables a guide, for example, to the exit of buildings. In usual iBeacon systems, there is one-to-one correspondence between notification and beacon module. This service uses beacon modules emitting radio waves based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology and provides automatic triggering of a single notification from a beacon module to multiple smart phones at proximity. iBeacon is a proximal wireless notification service proposed by Apple, Inc. This paper presents a concept of an extended iBeacon system for proximity target marketing. We performed extensive experiments and our results show that the proposed beacon based micro-location system can be used to locate a user in an indoor environment with an error as low as 0.27 meters. We propose to leverage a control theoretic approach, namely particle filtering, in order to increase the tracking accuracy in an indoor environment. In this work, we propose to use the cutting edge and commercially available Apple’s iBeacon protocol and iBeacon BLE sensors for micro-location. At the same time, each vendor would install different technologies. Although several technologies have been used for tracking purposes, the accuracy has always been a serious issue. This is a requirement of many IoT user-centric applications for indoor environments. Tracking a user with high accuracy is known as Micro-Location. Due to the lower energy consumption and higher throughput, BLE could therefore be an integral pillar of an Internet of Things (IoT) Location Based Service (LBS). The advent of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enabled Beacons is poised to revolutionize the indoor contextual aware services to the users.
